Wilson Architectural Group programmed, designed and produced drawings for 95,000 square feet of space in 3 months. In order to accomplish this, Wilson had to exhibit not only the ability to put forth the extra effort and time, but also the ability to technically understand the construction processes and systems, the technology being incorporated into the space, the management of both our internal resources and the four consultants working for us and with us on the project.
The project was divided into three phases to meet our schedule. The entire set of construction documents, including over 60 drawing sheets for phase one, was completed in only 21 days. The 80 sheets for phases two and three were issued 7 days later.
Quality control by our firm was paramount as the accelerated construction schedule, the schedule for the procurement, delivery of new furniture and logistics of the physical move of the departments would not handle significant revisions to the project or construction and code related problems or delays. The City of Houston issued the building permit for the first phase without any comments from any of the departments. Phases two and three required clarifications to one architectural sheet and two electrical sheets to get their permit.
Budget constraints set at the time the program was finalized were met and furniture costs for the project came in at 16% below budget.
